Boy Scout Troop 13 and Girl Scout Troop 470 presented the colors.

Richard Winn, a member of the Corona Historic Preservation Foundation and clad in the garb of a stage coach driver, explained the history of Old Temescal Road.
Mary Bryner Winn, dressed as Janet Williams Gould, spoke fondly of Corona’s leading historian who was known as “The Duchess.” Gould presided at the 1959 dedication of the first marker.
A tent provided some shade for spectators from the morning’s unusually high temperatures. Several members of the Corona Woman’s Improvement Club attended wearing costumes in honor of Janet Gould, who was the chairwoman of the History and Landmark Section of the club when the first marker was dedicated in in 1959.
Several Temescal Valley residents attend the ceremony including Jerry Sincich, Bob Hafner and Roberta Tandy, members of the Temescal Valley Municipal Advisory Council.
